A private entryway leads to a stairwell to the second floor, The Village Nook, a perfect space for one or two people on a get-away or travelling for business. The main room is furnished with a comfortable queen bed, side tables, loveseat, leather chair, and secretary's desk. Between the bedroom and bathroom is a kitchen nook with all the necessities for preparing simple meals e.g. mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster plus utensils, plates, mugs, glasses, wine glasses and wine opener, etc. We supply coffee and tea. The private bath has a lovely slipper soaking tub and hand-held shower. Guests may use the full bath with shower directly down the stairs. Linens, blankets, towels, body soap, shampoo, and hairdryer are provided. During the warmer months there is A/C and a table and chairs set outside to sit for meals.

The Village Hideaway

The Village Hideaway with its private entrance is a nicely appointed room with an ensuite bathroom for one or two people. There is a queen-sized murphy bed with linens and blankets, a comfortable morgan chair, side tables, a luggage stand, and secretary's desk. It is equipped with the necessities for preparing simple meals: mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, utensils, plates, mugs, glasses, wine glasses and opener, etc. Coffee and tea are provided. The bathroom is supplied with towels, soap, shampoo, and hair dryer.. The Hideaway is located at the rear of the house and next to the parking lot. We have thoughtfully considered what guests will need for a comfortable stay.

Mary & Kevin are avid outdoor enthusiasts who have lived in Saranac Lake since 1988. They enjoy hiking, biking, paddling, swimming, x-c skiing and snowshoeing. They honor their guests privacy and are glad to offer guidance when asked. The hosts have put together a book for each rental with suggested hikes, things to do, and where to dine plus, a selection of brochures and maps.

We are conveniently located a short walk from Saranac Lake's’ downtown shops, restaurants and artist galleries. We are right on the new Adirondack Rail Trail. The building behind The Nook is BluSeed Studios, featuring art exhibitions, workshops and live music and plays. Across the street kitty corner is a small park with a tennis court and basketball court. Less than a mile away is the towns’ municipal beach, park and picnic area at Lake Colby - always a lovely spot to watch the sunset and lower Saranac Lake canoe and kayak boat launch, which gives access to the spectacular Saranac chain of lakes. We are 10 miles from Lake Placid, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics and 25 miles from Tupper Lake, home of the Wild Center.
